Pre Approval Credit Score

Hi!

When I go to apply for pre approval through my bank will they pull a hard hit on my credit score? Also, while not exactly pertaining - anyone know how long the pre approvals are good for?

Thanks

D

Re: Pre Approval Credit Score

It's usually good for 120 days, not sure if it's a hard or soft pull though.

Starting Score: 2/22/12: EQ 530, TU 553, EX 528(lender). 12/4/12 (rebuilding starts)= EQ 599.
Current Score: 1/4/16: EQ 743, TU FICO 724, EX 737.
Goal Score: 750 all across.

Re: Pre Approval Credit Score

Yep it is a hard pull and it is typically good for 120 days. They typically do a soft pull before closing to make sure your score isn't significantly lower than the original so don't get too comfy with the pre approval...continue to maintain your score as best you can.
