Update: National Flood Insurance Program

Good news for those who need flood insurance.  The authority of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) to issue new/renewal flood insurance policies and to increase coverage on existing policies has been extended by Congress until May 31st, 2010.  Previously it expired on March 28th, 2010.  Private flood insurance was never affected by the lapse in NFIP's authority.

Re: Update: National Flood Insurance Program

Question Shane..

Do you think this is why the hold up on USDA?  Also I had obtained my flood insurance through a private company but was told they are all underwritten by the government.  Just wondering it's been a week since the USDA has had my elevation survey and no news...
