I had two accounts at this collection agency. One account had dropped off due to its age (pass the 7 years and 8 months) the other account I was told to pay by my credit union where I was trying to get a mortgage. I contacted the company and agreed to a settlement. They refused to delete so after paying I started to send goodwill letters. Well I get a call from the president of the company that stated that he would be willing to remove the paid account if I agreed to pay the old account that is no longer reporting. I advised him that I am not going to do anything with that account and only wanted to discuss the paid account. He said he wouldn't delete it so I thanked him for his time and hung up. Once an account is deleted from a credit report once it exceeded the 7 years and 8 months it cant be added back on....right?
