Experian

What is up with Experian.....

All kinds of crazy collections get posted to my Experian record, when I try and dispute them they never get removed. I talked to Experian way back on the phone and they basically said all they do is ask the collector if the account is theirs, and if they say yes it stays regardless if it is really legit or not. I have been fighting this forever......

I have 1 phoney collection that is past the statue of limitations before it was even put on my report but because the collection agency reported it as being open within the last year it gets to stay. Yes I do have proof from my claim with the BBB that they would corrected, but they didn't and neither did Experian when I sent them the proof.

I have 1 collection I do not know where it came from - I disbuted it as not mine and Experian still says it is legit. The original creditor was Columbia House, and the only Columbia House account I have had was paid and I have the bank statement to prove it, but Experian does not seem to care about that either.

I do not get, why are they twisted or working against the consumer???

Re: Experian

Have you tried sending a DV to the CA?

Re: Experian

The first one, yes, and got nothing. Which I also informed Experian of. - The first one I was told by the CA that the only way I would get that information was in court as they threated to sue me and take me to jail; which I have yet to see.

The second one, I have not yet.

Re: Experian

Did you send it CMRRR? Sounds to me like you are getting seriously threatened which is illegal, and on top of that, from my understanding - they are required by law to provide validation upon your request before continuing any collection activities. Threatening to sue you = collection activities, so looks like they've really messed up here. You definitely have a case on your hands, but perhaps one of the more experienced members can chime in and tell you the exact steps to proceed. Good luck Smiley Happy
