My husband has a collection reporting from American Medical Collections from 2011 for LabCorp. Last month, he received a letter from Credit Collection Services for the same debt. I sent all this information to LabCorp and asked to pay LabCorp directly and recall the debt from the CAs. This was their response:
Thank you for your correspondence. The balance of $110.66 can be paid directly to Labcorp and we will notify the collection agency. Our records show this is the same charge, so once we receive payment in full it will be removed from the agencies.
It doesn't necessarily say AMC will be deleted from his CR or that they will request a deletion. CCS is not reporting, and neither is Labcorp. It's my DH's account, and he won't talk to them (English isn't his first language). Has anyone dealt with Labcorp and AMC before? I'm pretty sure this debt is valid. I just need suggestions on my next move. Should I just pay then GW AMC?
