I paid off a medical bill that was sent to a CA. The medical office was finally able to give me the requested date of service. I find out the bill was a series of co-pays and the first one was 10/12/04 and the was 10/10/05. The CA placed this on my credit report but on EQ the DOFD is 10/05. This is not correct, right? I live in NYS and the five year mark would have be this year and I would be able to get this deleted. What should I do to get this corrected (if its even possible). Its my last collection on EQ and it needs to go so that I could have a better chance of a auto loan.
Please give me some hope!
Are they listing the series of co-pays as one collection?

Yes, it is showing as one Collection account. The Drs. office gave me the dates that they had. What is so irritating is that all of the times I went to the Drs. they never once told me I had co-pays.
If they are all under one collection account it is much better than having one per copay. They could easily have listed one with a DOFD of 10/04 and one with DOFD as 10/05.
I would write the CA a PFD and see if that works.
