Midland Funding Collection Deletion

Midland Funding is deleting my settled collection from all three CRA. I have a Control #, yes this is really happening ;-) I had tried for a long time for a PFD and realized it was not going to happen, but the law firm they assigned my account to had put paperwork at the County Courthouse, so I decided to just settle it since they were never going to delete it. Fast forward a few weeks, I was obsessively reading MyFico as I do often since we started preparing for a mortgage, and I read a post where Midland stated they had a new consumer friendly policy where they would delete paid collections where the DFD was over two years. I figured this was not going to apply to me since I settled for less than full, but it sure did. So thankful for this forum and those who share regularly. Things to know... -Pay or settle your collection and then allow plenty of time (especially if your account was assigned out to an attorney) -Call Midland - Note that the first time I called (yesterday), I was told that my account was in the process of updating (I mentioned it had already updated to zero on all three -CRAs, but was told it is a multi-step process in their systems) and to call back in 24 to 48 hours and the account could be deleted. I called back today and the rep was very helpful and confirmed he could go ahead and delete it. -They were going to update in their next update cycle, I stated we were scheduled to close on a house at the end of January (at this time it was already paid and closed so no risk sharing this info) is there any way to update earlier. We went back and forth and he offered an instant electronic update. -After completing the update which will delete the account, the rep also provided me a Control # in the event the update does not happen within 5 days. (The update is supposed to happen in 3 to 5 days). -I requested a letter to and it will come in the mail. -Make sure your address is up to date when they verify you. It can cause the update to fail if not. Good luck! I cannot wait to see what kind of score increases I get!

Re: Midland Funding Collection Deletion

I had 3 deleted as well. 3 were on EQ/TU and 2 were on EX. But now all are gone.

Ugh, looks like this won't apply to me since my account just went to collection April 2016.

It is based on the date you were first late.  When was that?
