My Scores are Better than I thought

Since I had my financial problem a few years ago, and didn't pay off some debt, I have had a fear of looking at my credit report and scores until I started visiting this forum and got my BofA Secured card.

I expected my scores to be sub 550. They are all actually above 580.

TU 610, Equifax 585 and Experian 620

how they are over 580 I have no idea.

That's awesome! Congrats! It's a nice feeling. When I finally gave in and checked my Fico scores, they were much higher than I anticipated as well. Though after having opened two new cards, I'm anticipating my scores taking a bit of a hit for awhile.

(started in the mid 500s on all 3, 11/13)
As of 5/22/15 EX: 698, EQ: 700, TU: 703
Barclay Rewards: $2750, Capital One Quicksilver one: $4300, Discover IT : $300, Amazon Visa: $100. Best Buy Credit Card: $3000, Kohl's Charge: $300, Express: $2600, Overstock $1650, Chase Freedom $4700, AMEX Everday $1500, Serta iComfort $4700, Walmart $1600, Target $300

What is the source of thise scores? If your interest in scores driven by your intention to get a mortgage at some point, only lender-pulled scores, along with overall strength of your credit profile, will matter.
