Understanding PFD

Please bear with me as I am new to the forum.  I'm sure you have answered my questions hundreds of times but, I can take the eye rolling if you can just answer once more.

I've been working on regaining my credit for the past year and a half after about 10 years of bad credit problems primarily due to medical bills resulting in multiple credit card, car loan, and mortgage problems.  Many of the reported problems are with CAs associated with doctor bills and a lot of late payments to credit card bills.  I only have one late payment with mortgage but, that was in Nov 2006 so its still showing on my credit report.

The good news is that they are all PIF but, just sitting there like an infected wound after stepping on a nail.

A few questions:

1.  Who do I send the PFD to?  The CA or original debtor or whomever it is reporting the late payment?  How much do I offer?  A percentage or a fixed amount?  All are for only a few hundred dollars (again all PIF).

2.  How long does a late payment stay showing?

3.  Should I just pay the most recent reports and let the others lapse?

A few questions:

1.  Who do I send the PFD to?  The CA or original debtor or whomever it is reporting the late payment?  How much do I offer?  A percentage or a fixed amount?  All are for only a few hundred dollars (again all PIF).A PFD (pay for delete) is for an unpaid account, it an agreement to pay for them to delete from your CR. For removal of lates you would send a GW letter (good will).

2.  How long does a late payment stay showing? late will be removed 7 yrs from the month it was late.

3.  Should I just pay the most recent reports and let the others lapse?don't understand question. should you pay who?
