Loan In Collection-Estimated removal question.

I have a student loan thru an online college that went into collection awhile ago.  On my TU report, it says that the last update on that account was 1/11/2010.  It is an open account w/ a collection agency/attorney.  It also states on the report that the Estimated month/year this will be removed is 6/2015.  What exactly does that mean?  I talked to my bank about looking at my credit report for future mortgage approval and they said this was the only bad mark that would keep me from getting preapproved.

It means that's approximately when you can expect TU to drop it from your reports.

I can't help with the mortgage aspect; never been down that road.  I'm guessing they think it will keep you from being preapproved because it says it's open, but I'm not sure.
