Student loan defaulted awhile ago

Hey everyone(mod please move if in wrong location)

I have 4 student loans. but are showing twice on CR.

4 old ones say Closed, zero balance.

4 "new" ones say close, with balance and are reporting late. Currently these are showing  4 missed payments with new account or servicing. All US ED.

what is the best way to tackle these? No payments have been made

Call the number next to the open accounts on your CR, tell them you want to rehab your loans AND that you want income based repayment (if you qualify).

9 months later and you'll be out of default, but the lates will float around for 7 years until they fall off.

The 4 old TimeLines are the ones you originally had and defautled on. They will show a 0 balance once they are sent off the the CA. At this point 4 new TL's will appear as the defaulted loans with a balance. This is normal. AS mentioned, try to rehabilitate the loans if your finances permit so.
