Situation: I have 0.00 debt. I have one CC (Amex Optima 1000 limit ). I have 5 bad accounts that are around 5 1/2 years old each. All CC chargoffs during the same time period. All paid in full balance zero around the same time too (15,000 total) My oldest accounts are around 15 years old. MyFico scores have been very consistant for the past 8-9 months. My AMEX / CC balance at the ending of the each month is between 5-20 dollars (I time it that way). I am hoping if I keep being consistant by december my fico scores will be over 700.
ps. My current Vantage scores: TU: 759, EQ: 755, EX: 773 and I am shooting for 800+ for all of them by December 2012!!
Hello All!
I am very excited about joining the FICO Fitness Challenge for 2012. In 2011 I entered debt rehab (it was really that bad) and brought my credit score up 80 points. I am looking to continue my improvement with support from this forum!
Since I teach, I always break my goals up into three types, now goals, main goals and ultimate goals.
Now Goal: To stay within my budget by taking small easy steps like buying the cheaper of two items, and asking myself "Why do I need or want this, seriously"
Main Goal: To raise my credit score up to 750 usong an 18 month plan so my soon to be hubby (woot woot!) won't be burdened with my past bad credit mistakes.
Ultimate Goal: To become fiscally responsible enough to have children without adding financial stress I've created to my household.
I know, I know, alot. But I am so excited about this next step. Rehab definitely gave me a brand new view on money and life. I hope we all can kcik debt and bad credit to the curb, together.
I can't believe it's three days till February, I have accomplish so much in January. Who would of through it would had taken me one day to change my mind and 8 hours to research on how I was going handle my financial situation. I was determine to feel good about where I stand with my money, I read books like THE FINISH RICH WORKBOOK, THE MONEY BOOK for the young, and went online to read how others got out of debt. I was on my way to planning my future. I was please with the information I found, it allowed me to feel confident, secure and it made me start believing that I can get out of debt. I new I had to take little steps to see long term results. When I started taking steps my score was at 550 which jumped to 720 in 4 years. It seemed so long at that time but it happened on time, I was able to buy my first car with a low APR. I couldn't believe all it took was me changing my mind on how I wanted to do things. I'm now making another change in my life, I'm going to stop bad spending habits to have a higher score. My mission is to buy my first home in January 2013 and I am on my way to making my dream come true. I just want to tell the world you can do anything that you put your mind too, just take little steps to meeting your goals. You can do it!
I wish you all the best! if you need assist please feel free to ask questions... and Thank you for replying
My Transunion quarterly score just came in through this site and I went from 666 to 694. I also got a small bump up to 726 on Equifax. I'm looking forward to continuing with my progress. Thanks to everyone here for being such a great resource for information and advice.
Hi All,
I have been working on my credit for about a year now, but I am new to the forums. I don't have alot of debt at the moment. I have a 14k car note, and a 300 dollar credit card. I am planning to buy a second car in the next month or so, then I will start my climb to 700.
Hi All,
Working on raising my credit score, have about $10K ($25K limit) in credit card debt left I want to pay off before becoming a 1st time homeowner.
I have no other debt besides the above (paid off car 3 months ago)
No late payments in 9 years (One 30day late ever) so no negs on the credit report besides CC utilization
Here's to 2012 !
Just got my quarterly FICO -- 43-point bump!
11/1/2011 TU: 653
1/30/2012 TU: 696
I had a 2009 chargeoff just fall off for no apparent reason. And I opened a new credit card with $1,000 limit and got a CLI on another card to $2,000, so my utilization was very low (4%).
I still have three nasty CAs that need to disappear, but for the first time I think that I will actually break 700
Just got an Equifax alert from myfico and went from 726 to 740. Getting there!
