I purchased a vehicle last year and just paid it off however the dealer informed me that my years worth of on time payments will not be reported on my credit report. Is this legal and what can I do to have it included in my report to improve my score?

If you purchased your vehicle at a "buy here, pay here" lot then I am not surprised. Most "we tote the note" auto lots do not report to the credit bureaus. Creditors are not required to report to the credit bureaus, however, the major lenders and credit issues do.

Is there any other recourse that I have in getting my payment history included in the report that you are aware of.

No, all you can do is ask. No creditor has any legal requirements to submit your payment history to the credit bureaus. Entirely optional
