I was reading through the forum/thread about Alliant CU and how it was wonderful CU. I got the courage to apply being that I am in the rebuilding process of my credit. I applied online and due to the fraud alert on my EQ file, I had to send in verification. Today I got the welcome email not sure if I am approved for a checking or savings yet. Which was surprising to me because EQ is only 610 not sure what the criteria reading from other posts you need at least 660 and above score wise. Now at the bottom of the email it offered a refi of a vehicle.
My question is, is this a pre-approval or just a general offer to new members? I see a "promo code" is the reason for the ? I was wondering if anyone got this type of email. I do not have a member # yet to apply because I would like to refi my vehicle and apply through online banking option. I am assuming that they seen my auto loan listed on my EQ file with a good payment history for a 1.5 yrs since I had the loan, no collections, 1 CO(3 yrs old), 3 cc w/23% utilization 1 30 day late in 11/08, and 8 inq. I don't want to apply and get denied or get a hard pull again.
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated I hope this was not answered in a previous thread. My apologies if it was. I read several threads but did not get a clear answer as I know that everyones experience and situations are different.
