the check should be equal to the sum you paid for the extended warranty....the price is in the contract you signed
The Warranty company, nor the dealer will tell you the amount because the dealer marked it up when they sold it to you! I sell service contracts "Warranties" at our dealership all the time, the warranty company sets the price for each contract, depending on the make, model, trim, and then the dealership marks up the price, usually around $1,000.00 or more, and then sells it to their customer. Thats why they wont tell you the refund amount, they dont want to cause issues with the selling dealer, and for obvious reasons the dealership isnt going to tell you either! I would ask the warranty company what your refund percentage is, take the cost of the service contract and divide that by the percentage, minus any cancellation fees, and that should net you, your total refund amount thats owed to the lein holder. Dealerships pay commissions to their finance people on these service contracts, usually around 20-30% of the profit, if you cancel the service contract and they have to issue you a refund, not only has the dealership lost profit from the sale, they just lost the extra comission they paid to the finance guy as well. Make sense?
Patrick00032001, is there a time period for cancellation of the warranty that you can get the entire cost refunded? Like within 2 weeks or 30 days?

Typically theres a 60 day period in which you can cancel with no proration. You'll get the FULL refund amount. Proration is based on time and milage after that. Keep in mind though, if you have a total loss, some warranties require you to cancel within 30 days of the total loss in order to receive any refund. It's in the fine print of the warranty language. At my dealership though, we will cancel/refund a warranty anytime.
I am a shop owner. I have one of your insured on my lift since 12/22/15. Todays date is 12/31/15. Your service inspector finally showed up yesterday to validate the claim. He left without giving myself any info or decision. The claim was denied due to a pre existing condition. I was made aware of this by your insured 6 hours after he had came in. Not by your company. I need the lift. We are way behind. He knew it was not covered the minute he walked out of my door. Your company thought it was OK to make me (my lift) wait another 6 hours to tell me this. Not counting the 7 days it has already been waiting for your service inspector. I will post as many negative reviews of your service where ever possible. You are also banned from EVER bringing one of your clients into my establishment. Sincerely, William Abel C/O Western Drivetrain Aurora, Co 80011. Do not contact me as I will consider this to be Harassment.
Is the last post from a shop owner about Alpha Warranty? A bit more of an introduction would be helpful but a great piece of information for those who might be considering this option.
