Another great DCU experience!

I called DCU to get pre-approved for an auto loan this morning. I'm currently a member there and have a checking, savings and auto loan. The whole proces took about 6 minutes.  Gave her my member number, amount that I was looking for, she told me that the rate would be based on my credit score and she asked if I knew what that was. So I said give me a few seconds.  A quick look at my scores from this month showed 699 at EQ (that's who they pull).  A few more details then she went to get an answer. A couple of minutes later she told me that it was approved. Gave me info to give to the dealer then we were done. Extremely easy!

btw- A credit score of 675 and over qualifies for their lowest rate. Plus, if your getting a vehicle that gets good MPGs (I believe it's 35 and higher), that will take another 1/4% off of the rate.  I very highly recommend DCU!!!

Re: Another great DCU experience!

Finalizing the loan was just as easy.  The dealer faxed my paperwork in today.  After I left there I called DCU to see what the process was. They said they could overnight the check. I mentioned that I was about 30 minutes away so I drove to the branch. Less than 10 minutes there then I was on my way to dinner.   One way that I can describe DCU is... they make you feel like a friend that is welcome and not like they are doing you a favor by giving you a loan.

I don't remember the name of the person I spoke with but everyone there has been very nice and helpful. Their lowest rate for 72 months is 2.49%.

Just ran the numbers, $24,500. for 72 months at that rate is $366.68.  It's $453.88 per month at 10%.

Let us know how it goes.
