I got a car loan through Cap One at the end of January. It is a joint account with my husband. Within a month of getting that car, we needed a 2nd one because my husband was changing jobs and would be losing his company car. We tried to do the Cap One pre-qual and were denied because of "too many new accounts." Since we have no other new accounts besides the other car loan, that must be the reason for the denial. It has worked out where he hasn't needed the new car yet, so we have tried again a few times since then and gotten the same response each time. We haven't tried again in a few weeks so I will probably try again soon and report back.
