Auto Lease

The terms of my lease end on June 15th. Currently my vantage score sits at 600 with a credit utilization of 81%. No idea what my FICO score is as I don't want a inquiry on my report before getting a vehicle.

I would like to get another lease and the car I would like to get has a MSRP range of 35-40k. My W2 last year was 60k. Do you think I could get approved for financing? I can pay down some of my credit card debt if needed, but would prefer not too if possible. Any thoughts? Thanks

Re: Auto Lease

First thing, you've got to get that utilization down.  81% is nearly maxed out and your scores are getting hammered because of that.  While below 9% is ideal, if you could get it below 29% it would drastically improve your scores.  You say you can pay down your CC debt, but would prefer not to.  Why?  You are unnecessarily paying interest by carrying significant balances.  Second, you imply that in order to get a FICO score you need a hard inquiry.  That is definitely not the case.  Go to creditscorecard.com and you can get your EX FICO 08 score for free.  If you're willing to spend $1, you can get all 3 of your FICO 08 scores for free at creditchecktotal.com.  Checking/obtaining your own scores are SPs and do not result in HPs so you won't get a hard inquiry added to your report.

While most of what you put posted is great advice, I'd really suggest that he does a 3B report here.  While getting your FICO08 score is fine, you really need to know your FICO Auto Enhanced scores and the only way to get those is from here.  There can be a big difference between your FICO 08 score and your auto enhanced scores which most auto lenders use
