My brother is looking for a car and has an equifax fico of 580.  Are there any lenders out there to help during this credit crisis?

How's his job experience?  If he has 2-3 years on the job it'll help a lot.

My 1st car, my Fico scores were in the upper 500's and I had about 2 years on the job.  I got a new Toyota Yaris w/ little money down (like $1500) but the catch was it had 17% APR, which I didn't really care cause it was my 1st car on my own.

Yes there are. It will be with a higher interest rate. but you can get a loan with those scores.

I had a part time job less than a year, CS in the 500's, and no money for a down payment

I was approved for $15 k

but at 29%

Do you NEEEEEEED the car right now or can you bum rides long enough to raise your credit score first?
