Does anyone have a good auto loan amortization schedule spreadsheet in excel or google sheets that they use? I'd like to find one that I can figure in additional extra paymets, etc. I, unfortunately, purchased an auto from a "tote the note" company. I want to make sure that they are going to calculate my early payments properly. Any pointers, or links to good spreadsheets, much appreciated!!
Thanks for your help everyone!!
This would be really easy to make I'm sure. I could probably tell you here in comments how to make one, including extra payments.
I know that data is your forte, ABCD. Because of it, i'm sure you are an excel whiz.
I found a template on Excel, but the forumulas are too complex for me to edit. haha
I'd love to build my own spreadsheet in excel, but I am a tru beginner in terms of building formulas!
Any guidance you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
I'll hit this thread up when I get home, just heading out on my daily walk! But it is REALLY easy to do. The equations sound confusing at first but once you build one, you will understand it right after the second.
For now, do this:
Cell A1 -- put in your ORIGINAL loan amount, for example 15000.
Cell A2 -- put in your interest rate divided by 12. If you don't know that number you can type in something like =6%/12 in that cell (6% replaced with your interest rate)
Cell A3 -- put in the length of the loan in months, for example 48.
Cell A4 -- type in =PMT(A2, A3, A1)
This is your monthly payment amount, right? If so, we will build a spreadsheet based on that exact equation, but we'll run each month down below the last one and subtract the payment from the balance, add the new interest amount and show the new balance with identical payments. It's very easy, I'll show you how!
I've safely downloaded other types of templates from this site before.
