Recently, a friend of mine took an auto loan with her grandmother. My friend appears on the documents as "co-applicant". My friend had limited credit history, so she couldn't qualify for the best rates. The auto loan soon appeared on her grandmother credit report (Transunion at least), but it hasn't appeared on her credit report. It has been 3 months since that. The loan was received through a very small, local credit union. The credit union has been claiming that the auto loan should appear on her credit report any moment, but if it doesn't appear, she can dispute the account through the CRA so that the CRA send the dispute to the Credit Union and then they can inform that the account, in fact, does exist.
My friend is really concerned about this, because it is her first loan and she would like to have this account to report, so that her score can improve. I have some experience in credit disputes, but I really don't know how to proceed with this particular situation. I would really appreciate some advice.
