Auto loan

I co signed for my mom a car with santander thinking i was doing thev right thing. Well i just tried to get a car loan with my credit union and they tell me they can't bcuz the satander loan is 3 months behind. No i didn't know. I asked my mom and she told me that she just filled chp 13 bankruptcy. No i didn't know this either. She's telling my the car is not my responsibility anymore. I guess she house went to court last week. I don't know anything about bankruptcy and how I'm affected and how this will affect my credit. Can someone help.

If you were not included in the BK they will likely come after you for the money.

Having those lates are really going to hurt your scores.

You also "bought" that car and signed the contract that you would be responsible for payments. If i were you i would have that car in my possession since it is also yours for now. PEOPLE REMEMBER: BANKS KNOW WHEN SOMEONE SHOULD NOT GET APPROVED. CO SIGNING SHOULD NEVER BE DONE BECAUSE IT IS A DEAD GIVEAWAY THE OTHER PARTY WILL NOT KEEP UP WITH PAYMENTS.

YOU MY FRIEND SINCE YOU CANNOT KEEP UP WITH PAYMENTS ON YOUR CAR WILL RUIN YOUR CREDIT And POSSIBLE WAGE GARNISHMENTS on ure paycheck. GOOD LUCK.
