I'm planning to buy a model Y when the 7 seater comes out next year and my current lease is up. This was my first and last lease, definitely not for me.
My auto scores range from mid 600s to mid 700s depending on version but should get a good bump between now and then because my derogs will fall off. Should be solidly in the mid 700s.
Where do you recommend going for preapproval for a Tesla with this credit profile?
I think @Schwartzinator could be of use here. Of course, the "best" lender will depend on your location and personal credit situation.
I don't know if I'm the right person to answer this as I did not do any rate shoppping. I applied for financing directly through Tesla who at least at the time partnered with Chase, USBank and WellsFargo. I do not believe those partners have changed but I could be wrong.
Now, the most competitive or "best" loan/rates will almost always be had through a CU. There really shouldn't be anything special about financing a Tesla other than the larger than average loan consideration. YMMV.
Just make sure you have a Tesla friendly insurer. Repairs are NOT fun.

Maybe @Revelate can share his experience on this too.
I don't think any of Tesla's financing has 0% rates or other manufacturer rebates and discounts.
As a result I would look for best rates and those that have EV discounts, and then try the Tesla financing anyway.
In my case the first and only lender would be DCU who has both, but I think their top tier UW is at 730 EQ FICO 5 for auto loans and below that they aren't as awesome.
Alliant may be worth checking too they are or were a Tesla financing partner and were doing some good loans and that's before rates dropped over the last two and change years.
