Well, after trying to get our minivan refinanced with our home CU, Capital One, and PenFed with all three turning me down even after doing a recon I was able to finally find a place that approved our auto refinance; Blinker.
They do a soft pull when checking the rate and a hard pull when finalizing the deal. Their customer service rep even called me about 15 minutes after I did the preapproval just to verify a few things and to see if I had any questions, even though their office was already closed. Talk about awesome customer service!
Old rate was 18.9% (yes, I know). This was due to a needing to purchase a vehicle during our chapter 7 BK. We are 2 1/2 weeks after discharge now and had 57 months left on the term.
New rate is 7.89 with a 44 month term. Payment is going up $14 a month but we are shaving over 10% off the rate and 13 months off the remaining term. We are excited!!
They pulled Experian and I'm not sure what Blinker uses exactly but my Fico 8 score is 614 per Experian's website.
So anyone in similar circumstances please consider Blinker. They do new auto loans as well as refinances, and they also facilitate in buying and selling cars private party.
