I went in yesterday and signed all the paperwork for a new car lease and left a small downpayment. I didn't take delivery of the vehicle because they need to write a check to pay off my current lease and that won't be ready until tomorrow. I know I signed all the paperwork required but since I didn't take delivery of the vehicle (didn't drive it off the lot) can I still change my mind? Btw: There is no federal 3-day cool off period on cars so don't try posting that. This is different since I haven't taken delivery of the actual vehicle. Thanks!
You may change your mind all you like. However, legally I believe you are now the lease holder of a new car.
Check the language on the contract, it should spell out if there is any ability to cancel the contract and under what circumstances.

Unless the dealer specifically (in writing) offers some sort of short-term satisfaction guarantee that provides for cancellation within x number of days, you are now under contract on the new lease, delivery or not. In most cases, the contract would be effective on the date you filled in when you signed it, even if technical difficulties are now delaying delivery.
