I'm looking to buy a new car in the next few months. Currently my TU and EQ score is 670. I just applied for a CC since my lack of revolving accounts (didn't have a CC before) was hurting my score.
I make 2000/month before taxes (TX so no state tax) but my job provides and pays for my apartment, utilities, cable, internet, etc... Job even provides an extra $2500 year for food and various things and covers half my cell phone bill. I have $56k in student loan debt but my payments are only $250 a month so I have very little I'm actually paying out each month.
Do you think if I take all this information with me (job, apartment, student loan, etc..) it would help with the approval process? I'm looking at $17k car with about $3k-$4k down payment.
You should have no problems, but may (due to your housing stipend etc) require a dealership finance manager to help you structure your loan application.
