Capital One

My chapter 7 was discharged in June 2018. I burned cap one for about $2k in credit cards. I recently went through their Auto Navigator and was prequalified. Is this actually possible? How likely are you to actually be approved if you’re prequalified? Is there a chance I’ll go to the dealership and get declined? Or will the interest rate be much higher than advertised? My credit scores are 650 673 and 700. Thanks!

Re: Capital One

CapOne is very forgiving, in my experience. Unfortunately, I've burned them a couple of times and they've always let me back in fairly quickly. Most recently, I had a Chapter 7 BK discharged in January 2018 with several CapOne accounts included and was approved for a new QS1 card in November 2018 with a $3,000 starting limit. It was NOT my first card after BK and I had already started rebuilding by then. I was just approved for a Savor card in July 2019 with a starting limit of $2,000 and I'm definitely enjoying the 4% cash back on restaurants.

Re: Capital One

Completely forgot to add that they approved auto refinances for both mine and my husband's vehicles in June 2019 as well. They're VERY forgiving.

Re: Capital One

Me and the wife burned them for 20k in Chap 7 discharge of Oct 2018. We got new cards with them pre-discharge that survived. Refinanced a vehicle with them Nov of 2018, and just got approved for a 32k SUV with them after my wife’s 16’ Explorer was totaled. My scores are low 600s. 6.5% rate.
Don’t take your credit for granted, use it with care! These days, catch me in the bankruptcy forum!?
