I am just getting discharged from Chapter 13. When we filed it was not because we were behind. All of our payments were made on time. Over 30 years we might have had maybe 10 late payments. We had just acculated a lot of debt. We had a major life experience that forced us to give up our home which caused us to have to file bankruptcy. I have had probably 20 car loans in my life all paid off with on time payments. I got rearended a few months ago & I am forced to buy a new car because they are salvaging it. I make about $70,000 a yearI. I owe a couple of thousand on a car credit card for medical reasons. I have had 3 jobs in my life currently 11 years, 13 years at my last one & 11 years at my first one. With the money fronm the insurance company and my personal money I am prepared to put $ 10,000 down. I do plan to buy a new car. My personal bills are about a $ 1000.00 per month. What are my chances of getting a decent rate? My credit score is about 620.
What kind of car?
Car loans are pretty easy to come by since it's secured debt.
I would look into a local credit union also but if you go brand new and put money down the captive bank (the brand you buy) should be all over it.
