I was recently approved for a DCU auto loan and I received my auto loan check. On the check it says void after 30 days. Is it possible to extend this if I haven't found a vehicle yet?

You rec'd the "check" before you sent actual purchase papers from DCU? Must be something new, every car I've financed through DCU required the sales contact and purchase order to be faxed to DCU first. The financing I've had with DCU were "pre-approved" which is good for 45 days, but they never sent the check until I actually purchased a vehicle.
I know the Capital One program is to mail you a check for "up to" the maxmum amount that you can spend which I've done twice in the last 10 years, but in both cases I ended up NOT using the Cap-1 check because the dealer beat the rate by a bunch.
I would assume that if DCU sent you a check marked good for 30 days, they'd have to replace the check if it wasn't cashed/used on time and you might have to requalify.
Yes, I requested a check by phone after uploading the necessary documents minus the purchase sales agreement. They also FedEx'd it to me overnight ffor $15. I guess I need to look for a car ASAP.
Yes, you need to use the DCU check before the 30 days is over or you have to reapply and have another HP. I had DCU send me a check since I bought out-of-state and they are firm on the 30 days.

You do not need to have a purchase agreement, at least with my experience with DCU. They gave me a check for the amount I wanted (after approval of course), and then I took it with me to the dealer.

You paid $15 for an overnight check but you havent even looked for a car yet? Why?
I just bought my car, the car I purchased cost more than what I was initially approve for. I called DCU had my dealer fax my Purchase Agreement and immediately DCU sent me a new auto check overnight! I want to thank the FICO community for all the guidance and support, I saved a lot of money with DCU and now I know why they are heavily talked about. DCU is the best!!

Enjoy your new car! What did you end up getting?
I purchased a 2016 Honda Civic. Does anyone know how long it takes to received the car title from the dealership?
