Hi,
I just wanted to update. The finance guy yesterday just so happened to leave the office early when I arrived. So I showed up bright and early this morning, and a meeting had already been made between the head finance managers. According to them, it was a done deal and the paperwork signed. I told them then they could keep the car and I would call a cab. So they then re-wrote up the paperwork minus the warranty. My monthly payment went down nearly $100 after I put an additional 1100 down.
Thank you to everyone for their help. I was p***** off and didn't hide it.
I am glad you stood your ground and go the car. I dont understand why a car buying experience has to be such a pain. Only in that industry can the seller lie and deceive its customers and its status quo. I am going in to buy a car this afternoon and thank goodness through these forums I have had great results in each of my car purchases. The dealership has no idea what is coming their way this afternoon. I have all my ducks in a row. If they are smart they will take what money I give them. Again, congrats on your purchase.
Thank you. This is my first financed car (I always paid cash before), and to be honest this exchange really put me off of financing a car again.
Good luck with your purchase, and I hope you update here so we can learn from your experience.
OP, you handled yourself well. I am so impressed about your response to their "It's a done deal" BS. It isn't done unless you agree and sign off! So calling them on their tactic by telling them to keep the car and you were taking a cab is priceless I am still LMAO everytime I get a visual of the scene....
As to not financing - it really is only this way with dealerships. If you bring in your own financing - it is a whole different experience.
But congrats on getting the car with your terms and not theirs!
