First auto loan, need help!

Well... here I am after viewing so many posts and other people's situations to compare them to mine, I've decided to finally make an account, after a year or so of browsing Smiley Tongue

first I have to say that if I know anything about credit cards, loans, interest and so,  is because of this site, so thank you guys so much! Smiley Very Happy

I actually own  a honda accord 2001 for which I have a budget montlhy for repairs Smiley Sad so is time for me to take my very first car loan.

I won't apply right now cause I have a card with high util (chase fredom 1,124 of 2,000) and I plan to pay 200 montlhy to have it paid off around August, my score right now is 681 (discover TU) , so here's what I'm hoping to have around the end of August:

credit score: in the low 700s

credit cards I currently have: cap one 2300, cap one 651, chase fredom 2000, discover 200.

oldest account open: 1 yr 4 months.

current income: 40k~ ish (overtime varies) I'm 26, I live alone and make around $2600 after taxes.

Amount of loan desired: 15k to 17k

Down payment: 3,000

I'm keeping it short, as I know your time is very valuable.

Any insight, advice, honest opinion will be highly apreciated Smiley Happy

Also, I intend to keep this post updated for anyone in my position who wants to read, as I was in their shoes once reading other people's posts Smiley Very Happy

If you are throwing money down the drain on repairs maybe consider doing it sooner rather than later. $1100 of credit card debt is not very much and one card at 50% utilization is no big deal. I finance everything at my local CU, if I were in your shoes I would stop down and see what kind of rate I was looking at.

Check out this active thread:

Many of the same/similar questions are being answered. If you have additional questions please ask away.

You have time on your side and I agree that getting your scores up by paying down CC debt will help you chances.

Income looks good.

Good luck!
