General Motors has filed for bankruptcy. GMAC is a different company that was spun off of GM and is NOT in bankruptcy. GMAC has been tapped as the primary lender for Chrysler as well. No matter how many tax dollars we have to throw at it, GMAC will be around for the foreseeable future.
