Hard Pull question-auto loan

I applied for a used car loan through my bank (pre-approval thing) and secured financing through them.  However, since I know credit unions usually offer better rates, I wanted to try there as well.  The only reason I went through my bank is because it's local, I had a direct loan officer I could talk to and explain my situation (trying to rebuild credit as it's not very good currently).  I am a member of 3 other credit unions none of which are local (DCU, Randolph Brooks, and A+ Federal).  I've never had a loan with any of them.  My question is, if I were to attempt to apply online with all 3 of them today, will it be 3 hard pull dings or just 1 since they are all for 1 auto loan?  Thanks!

Re: Hard Pull question-auto loan

You will more than likely see three different hard inquiries show up by applying for financing at each credit union. However for scoring purposes, they should all count for scoring purposes as one as FICO model's assume individuals will rate shop for auto loan's and they don't punish you as long as they are coded correctly.

Some other information would be beneficial to us helping with your situation...

-Current FICO scores (traditonal/auto enhanced)

-negatives on your CB causing your score to be lower

-Type of vehicle being purchased (used/new/year/miles/price/LTV/Down PMT,etc)

In addition, what term's/apr did your local bank offer you?
