I have gotten some lease numbers from all around and although I want to be practical and go smaller, blah blah... how can I:
keep in mind all are based on loaded models... I don't do base.
Lexus comes the closest for a CT $2k down and $299/month 27 months but I would kick myself because just a month ago it was $0 down and $299/month 27 months!!
Acura TSX with Tech $2k down and about $371/month for 36 months
2014 Mazda 3 with tech and moon roof (every option, it's over $29k) $2k down $308 with tax for 36 months
then infiniti 2013 G37 premium with nav (about $42kish im leaning) $1550 down $299/month 24 months
mazda was good price and kind of surprised unitl I get to 36 months! I hate it... i fit was $0 down Id probably do it!
acura... well that's just terrible next to the others.
but infiniti... most expensive car out of the 4, the least down, the shortest term and the lowest payment... is it just so backend loaded that I better not go over miles and better have cap coverage and carefully turn that back in at 24 months without a scratch?! like what am I missing?
he won't give me numbers but he says he can work something not to far off on a Q50 Hybrid too but wants me to come in before he will.
It has tobe back end loaded, I'm guessing. Just a hunch, but I get the feeling Infiniti maybe taking on essentially deferred losses when you turn-in to sell these cars today...at least from the numbers you gave me, that's what it looks like. Though I will say Infiniti's hold their value well, so that clearly helps.
Keep in mind the G37 is being discontinued. So for that exact models, I can maybe even see it (probably huge upfront rebates). If he can work it on a Q50, I'd be surprised to be honest. I'm just guessing, but I'd imagine a lease on a Q50 is going to push 400/month with a dp < 2k...just a hunch though. The whole come in before I work numbers is just to give you crappy numbers and pressure you to sign imo. I'd shop around some dealers on internet Q50 prices before saying Infiniti is doing something special.
The G37 is continuing. At first, it was announced that the Q50 was going to replace the G37, but now they will continue the line and have it as their "entry" level sedan, priced 3-5K less than the Q50s.
Just a snippet of the article from Infiniti: NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Infiniti today announced that a revised line-up of the Infiniti G37 sedan models will continue to be available in the United States through model year 2015 alongside the all-new Infiniti Q50. Base Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Prices* (M.S.R.P.) are being repositioned to reflect the product hierarchy with the higher content 2014 Infiniti Q50 – which will go on sale this week at Infiniti retailers nationwide.
I leased my G37 in November 2013. It had the Premium, Navigation and the Sports package. The MSRP was close to 47k, but I negotiated the price down to 38k. My payments are now 350 a month for 23 months with a residual of 29k at the end of the lease. I am enjoying the heck out of it. Go for it
And there's your answer. It's a combination of insane discounts off of MSRP and perhaps a bit of back loaded residual. But most of it is coming from that MSRP decrease imo.
