I completed the auto navigator and it said I was approved for up to 40k? It also gave a range apr of 3-9%. Is this a solid approval? I don't want to waste 3 pulls at dealership if its not.
Hey me and my mother applied both got 2.49-8% rates. Well hers was slightly higher. I havent used mines yet still deciding on a car. But my mother used hers with no issue at all. The dealer was familiar with the process and it was pretty fast. She got a car with $0 down and the interest rate was true to what was quoted by capital one. Once approved you can sign in and browse vehicles and it will tell you exactly what your interest rate/payment will be for that specific vehicle. Enjoy your new ride!

First, I believe it is only one hard pull not three.
I just got pre-approved for $40k at 2.49% - 5.49% depending on loan to value, age, used, new, etc.
I used the navigator to make sure my dealerships were cap one friendly. They all were except one.
I have emailed about 20 dealers over the last month hammering my deal out before I ever stepped foot in a dealership.
Found a great guy who was close to the best price and one of the closest to my house.
Found the car VIN online and played around with numbers in the navigator.
SUPRISE! Because I got such a good deal my APR went down from 2.99% to 2.49% for 72 months!
Printed it out and took it too the dealer.
Told them three times not to run my credit through any other bank.
They didn't. I got the 2.49% and the payment that was estimated to the dollar.
Signed papers, Cap One required no income or any documents from me. DL only.
Drove off with the exact price and exact interest rate and payment pre-determined.
AWESOME!
Cap One treats me like a king and I will be loyal for a long long time.
BTW my fico is only 689.
DON'T WORK FOR CREDIT CARDS ... MAKE CREDIT CARDS WORK FOR YOU!

May be a case by case situation. But I checked my reports they definitely pulled all 3 for me.
