Just Started Rebuilding But Need A Ride.

My current car is on its deathbed and i have no choice but to finance a car lest this car leave me stranded and me out of my job. I just got approved for a BOA secured card with a mid 500's score and was wondering if financing a 6-7k vehicle at this point is insane? I'm making right around 3k pm.

Help!

I don't know the specifics of your credit report but you should be able to get approved, just maybe not at a great interest rate

Re: Just Started Rebuilding But Need A Ride.

I tax lien from the state plus 4 other collection accounts ranging from 600 to 200. Working on a PFD for three collections and battling Midland like crazy for a 600 dollar Tmobile bill.

If you are making 3K per month then something you should check into before signing your life away on a used car @ 15-20% APR (  which might be too old to refi later ) at one of the buy them before they break lots is Ford under one of their FMC credit establishment/re-establishment programs on a new Fiesta, Focus, or base mustang or base f-150.

Re: Just Started Rebuilding But Need A Ride.

Quick update.

Shortly after opening the BOA acct, my score jumped up 67 points as per myfico.com I'm now very close to the mid 600's and i've decided to just throw some money at my current car to winterize it and save up for something decent.

Also working on clearing out my prior collections and looking LEAVE one baddie on there out of spite of some very stoopid collection agency in JAX. I offered to settle with a PFD and they wanted me to pay in installments from my checking. Shortly after refusing to that option and insisting on a money order, the lady hang up on me.

I'm gonna clean up my credit and call them every now and then to rile them up.

Thank you for all the help guys/girls.

^^^Congrats! Smiley Happy Not only on the awsome score jump, but on making a sound financial decision...

I hear you on the "stoopid collection agency" - good thing you refused to pay them out of your account. Sounds like you know what's up Smiley Happy

Re: Just Started Rebuilding But Need A Ride.

Just a quick update. I'm still rolling around on my old wheels after i dumped close to $600 in it. Still living one day after another without a car note but the temptation is building rapidly. Just out of a whim applied for an AT&T smartphone and got approved with no downpayment no activation fee nothing. Guy at the AT&T store didn't really want to hand over the phone but i have it and have a few days to decide whether i want to keep it or not.

B.O,A has been very GOOD to me after i decided to stick it out with them and they recently approved the opening of a savings account with them. I'm still in posession of their secured card with excellent payment history ~7months or so and im sitting in the mid 600's up from the mid 500's. Regardless, i will be in another vehicle come this summer.

Thanx to the members who go out of their way to help others.

Vitesse!

Re: Just Started Rebuilding But Need A Ride.

Awesome. with mid 600s, definitely try for DCU. At 675+ EQ FICO, they do 1.24% for 65 months. At more mid-600s, the rate goes to 4-5% for 65 months, still pretty good!
