I wasn't able to find much on here so thought I'd share what I got from speaking with a rep earlier:
1 HP for membership and 1 for auto loans
They cannot use the same because they pull different scores
She said they use the same membership HP score for credit cards and personal loans
She actually had to put me on hold to find out who they pull for Auto
It's supposedly EQ Fico 8 and top tier is 740+
She was unsure if they used EQ Auto Fico 8 or Regular EQ Fico 8
Preapproval good for 30 days
They do still offer interest rate reductions down the life of the loan (like how DCU used to do) for good behavior
For approvals they look at more than scores, your overall credit profile
TOP TIER RATES BELOW
There is a 0.50% rate reduction for having the Active Checking account
Rates for vehicles age 2013-2018
2.30% up to 48 months (w/o checking)
1.80% up to 48 months
2.50% 49-60 months (w/o checking)
2.00% 49-60 months
2.75% 61-66 months (w/o checking)
2.25% 61-66 months
3.25% 67-75 months (w/o checking)
2.75% 67-75 months
4.25% 76-84 months (w/o checking)
3.75% 76-84 months
Add 1% to the above for Top Tier rates for vehicles age 2012 and older
I was told EQ fico5 for membership & credit/loan accounts, no chexsys at all & 740+ on EQ fico 5 gets you top tier rates.
Did you you open your account with Langley for credit cards PLoc . R u certain what scores were used.
Did you get a letter in the mail about your approval for credit cards/loans/ autoloans?
did you get approved for the auto refinance/auto loan credit cards?
Your Data Points please?
Thanks LINYGirl and Co. for the info on Langley. I was actually turned down by them a little over a month ago, when I applied for a $15,500 auto loan. I had applied online and received a letter by mail stating they would not extend me the credit because my "debt to income ratio exceeds LFCU guidelines" and my "level of indebtedness exceeds LFCU guidelines."
They did a single hardpull on Equifax. Interestingly enough, I believe you can apply for the auto loan without applying for membership. I applied directly for the auto loan, and there was no mention of membership on the application. And my denial letter only mentioned my application for the auto loan (no mention of membership). I guess that is why I only had one pull instead of two, like LINYGirl said is their protocol.
Until I read this post, I was actually considering applying for membership with them. I figured I might as well make use of the ding to my Equifax report and see if they can use it to consider me as a member, just in case I decide to use any of their services down the road. But if it would mean another HP on my record, then no thanks.
My assumption was that Langley is pretty strict, because immediately following their rejection I was accepted for the same loan by Bank of America at 5% APR, Vystar Credit Union at 4%, and First Florida Credit (can't remember exactly but I think it was around 5%). I settled on Vystar, and have been very happy with them so far. All's well that ends well I suppose. ![]()

Anyone familiar with Langley or can provide their personal experience and more insight?
Is membership strict? Do they require direct deposits like DCU for the reduction?
In my book they are great: superb customer service, great products.
Membership is easy, anyone can join.
No they don't require direct deposits. But it's good to use them for direct deposits because they make them available 2 days early.
