I wanted to share my experience with LightStream (SunTrust) because of the ease in my application for an unsecured used auto loan. Their lowest rates are extremely competetive and I believe they even have a "beat my rate" type of offer if you find a lower rate. The thing I love most about the LightStream loan is the way they depost funds directly into your checking account with no worry about waiting and sitting in the dealer finance department for hours, which will make the buying experience much better overall. The title goes in your name.
I applied for the loan online late yesterday (Thursday) afternoon. They sent an approval email within 5 minutes. A link is sent to review the loan agreement, enter your banking details, select perferred funding date, and select preferred payment date. If you are approved on a business day prior to 11:30 AM PST, you can choose to have the funds deposited same day! Since I applied after the cutover time, I selected to have the funds deposited the next business day, today (Friday). I logged in to banking this morning and the funds are already in my available balance! I don't think it gets much better than that!
When researching LightStream, I did find comments about them liking lower DTI, some evidence of savings, equity in property, etc. Some have had to provide documents (paystubs, account balances, etc), but I did not have to provide any of that so YMMV. For me, they pulled EQ Fico 8. I definitely recommend!
Congrats on your approval and new acquisition. I concur with your assessment of LightStream as I had a similar experience with an unsecured loan a few months back.

Congrats on the approval, glad to hear another great experience with Lightstream. We are planning to use them for a Home improvement loan. If you don't mind me asking, what was your EQ Fico 8. The reason I ask is if they didn't require any docs from you, your score must be pretty high etc. Even a range if you don't want to provide the exact score and good to know they use Equifax Fico 8 as that is always my highest score.

No problem...score for EQ was an 849, which may have been a factor in them not requesting docs. Good luck with the home improvement loan!
Thanks for the response, appreciate it. Yeah, your score definitely makes sense on why they didn't require any docs. Thanks for the info and enjoy your new car!
what kind of interest rate though? since this is considered a personal loan, thanks

A LightStream auto loan is NOT considered a personal loan... they just don't ask to be put on the title. It still reports as an auto loan. (And you are expected to actually use the funds for the stated purpose - they have different rates for auto vs personal or other types of loans.)
