NADA vs TMV

looking at buying a 2007 ford focus SE with 37k miles, pretty good condition, why is NADA and TMV so far apart?

NADA says it's worth $4825  clean retail

TMV   says $7325 @outstanding condition

KBB trade value says  $3956 @ excellent condition

thought the dealer said he's asking 9K??

that's way off I would think!!

any thoughts on what I should offer since I want to pay cash??

Re: NADA vs TMV

Asking prices on used cars are inflated, but this seems excessive considering it's a car that's almost 15 years old.

If you are really set on this car, offer them your best out the door price;  I'd ask them to also include an aftermarket warranty, considering the car's age.

By the time you add tax, title and license you're over $10k that high books at $7k. I know that used car prices are ridiculous right now but there is no way that deal is worth pursuing.

If the dealer won't come down significantly then I'd give this one a hard pass.

Re: NADA vs TMV

this car was not listed on the website as of the day I went there(hmm, that's them calling now), the next day I did see the car was @ $7950!
