NFCU Auto Loan Approval Question

Hello Everyone

I applied for a auto loan at Navy and was instantly approved. I picked the have the loan proceeds mailed to me. I received a text message confirming the approval and stating that the check will be mailed as requested but shortly after received a message in my online account under the loan confirming I was approved again but this time the message stated that the loan proceeds will be available to pick up at a branch as I requested (has anyone had this happen?) I called twice and both reps told me that the documents are being mailed as I requested and they are not sure why the message says anything about picking it up at a branch. They told me it's probably just a fluke in their system and assured me having it mailed is selected under my account. There wasn't a tracking number yet and they haven't debited my account yet for the fee to have it mailed through FedEx.

In your experience how long did it take to get your documents from Navy when you requested to have them Mailed through FedEx? And if you were charge a fee when did they take that out. I Just don't want to wait for it to come in the mail when it's not going to because it's sitting at a branch. Thank you everyone in advance!

Received the tracking number yesterday! It's on its way. I picked with Saturday Delivery but they sent it out normal FedEx delivery and stated to "deliver on weekday" even though I picked to have it with Saturday delivery so I won't get it till Monday/Tuesday now. They haven't charged me yet but if they do charge me the amount with Saturday delivery I guess I can call and have it refunded.

Has anyone gone through a auto loan with navy and would like to share their experience? Thanks again!

I have and it was as easy as it could be. All done via fedex and online. I did have a few questions along the way and I simply called and they answered my questions. A seemless process that I could not have been more happy with. Navy is awesome.

BTW, although I elected to pay for FedEx delivery of the docs, there was a note included in the envelope that said Congrats, they were paying for the fedex cost . Dont be surprised if you receieve the same.

We didn't have to pay a FedEx shipping fee. With the volume they do it probably doesn't cost them more than a few dollars to ship those envelope pkgs.

Creditwiser-when you filled out the app did you select regular fedex or fedex with saturday delivery? Like I said I selected Fedex with Saturday Delivery for $17.00 since when I apploed it was close to a weekend and was thinking of going out today to look at cars but when I got the tracking number yesterday it said "deliver on weekday" and the loan documents are already at my local FedEx but stated it was being held there because "delivery is not scheduled today" so I wonder if that's the reason is was sent out regular fedex and not fedex with Saturday delivery because they paid for it?

I am just so excited and can't wait. i would of loved to go car shopping today but I'm okay with waiting. So far besides its been a great and easy experience. I was instantly approved and had a fedex number the next day! Now just waiting on the docs.

After I receive the docs I can go to any dealership and pick out the car? I'm happy with what navy gave me and don't want the dealer pulling my reports so can I freeze my reports before I go car shopping or will navy need to pull my credit again when I get to the dealership. Will the dealership make me fill out a credit app there or just sign the navy docs. I already called them like 3-4 times since being approved asking questions and they have been great!

I did not request saturday delivery. As far as the dealer goes you are good to go with your Navy approval. Navy approved you up to a certain amount I gather so you know where you stand and what you want to pay. Do not give the dealer your SS # . No need to do that unless of course you think they can beat Navys rate. Thats up to you but if you're already set on Navys financing then you are good to go and as far as the dealer goes, you're paying with Navys check and thats that. You're walking in the dealers door with financing in hand so you hold the cards, remember that.

One item of caution is to make absolutely certain you AND the dealer fill out Navys paperwork exactly as their instructions require. Thats very important and you'll see what I mean when the docs arrive. You're all set. Have fun shopping !

I'm just curious if you know what your score was at approval and what terms you were approved for? I'm considering getting one from them myself.

CreditCurosity- thanks so much for all of your help! Congrats on your approval as well!! Does navy give you 30 or 60 days to use the draft? I thought 60 but I was given a first payment date of 4/16 which makes me think it could be 30. That's one question I forgot to ask the CS reps. Thanks so much again and congrats.
