NFCU Loan question.

Does anyone know if I can pay off my loan with my credit card. I see no option on there website. I owe $2,500 and got a 0% credit card for a year and wanted to pay the rest of it off.

Re: NFCU Loan question.

It's unlikely they'll allow you to pay via CC. Lenders don't want to pay CC fees, and generally don't want you to incurr revolving debt. You could possibly accomplish this with a cash advance / convenience check ~ but I suspect the fees and interest would negate the benefits.

Re: NFCU Loan question.

If you have a cc and auto loan through NFCU, then you can use your cc to pay on your loan balance. I just made my first payment without issue. Other outside CCCs I can't say for sure. I would have to agree with pizza dude on this one.

Re: NFCU Loan question.

I think using a nfcu card to pay the loan would count as cash rather than a purchase.

Too many INQs & low AAoA so I'm off to tend the Garden.     Age:23

Re: NFCU Loan question.

Thanks for the replies. I called today and they said it wouldn't be a problem. Just got to goto a branch to make the payment. They wouldn't take it over the phone.

Re: NFCU Loan question.

Similar circumstance... I moved 5k from my ACS student loan balance over to my NFCU CC for the 0% interest.  It will be paid off within the year and I wasn't planning on applying for anything, so the util% isn't a big deal.

Re: NFCU Loan question.

What about an online transfer? Careful though you might get gigged for a cash advance.

Re: NFCU Loan question.

Currently looking at my NFCU right now as I write this. The description on my auto loan acct is a transfer payment, which was made on the 10th of this month. The cc acct doesn't show any transfer balance. Will wait and see when statement cuts on the 4th if I get hit for the balance transfer.

Re: NFCU Loan question.

I made the payment at my local branch. The lady told me it would be a cash advance and it would just add 2% interest on my card. Planning on selling my motorcycle as soon as I get the title so it wont affect me much.
