NFCU Pre-approval???

I got a little flyer in the mail yesterday saying to go to NFCU for a car loan......says the words "You're Pre-approved" ....do you think this is for real, or just marketing? I do know a few weeks ago, I had a little box on my screen when I logged into my acount that said something about an auto loan pre approval, but It was only there a couple days and I haven't seen it since.

It's a real preapproval but you still have to apply and take the HP

It's a real preapproval but you still have to apply and take the HP

That's kind of lame. I received a preapproval from DCU and when I decided to purchase there was no HP. That said, i would have taken the HP for the terms I rec'd.
