Please excuse me if this has been answered already but I have truthfully looked at almost every post on here and haven't found the answer. My husband recently opened an account with NFCU, we want to get apply for a credit card but at the same time we are looking to get an auto loan from them sometime in December. Do you think applying for a credit card right now is smart or do you think it will ruin our chances with the auto loan. His credit score here is at apprx 650 he has nothing negative in his credit report and has like 5 cc's of which he pays more than the minimum and always ahead of time (three of which have 0.00 balances)

I think you wouldn't hurt your chances of approval, NFCU is one of the best CUs for generous approvals and CLs, although they can be quirky with auto loans sometimes.
