NFCU declined or approved?

Last year I applied for an auto laon with NFCU when my score was under 600 and I was declined instantly.   Well just now I applied now that my scores are above 600 and paid off everything in collections a few months ago and I have a better utilization because NFCU increased my navcheck and I have a CC with them as well.

Well when I applied earlier,  got further than I did last year on the online app.  It told me my app is under review for a final rate, but had me continue.  I continued and it asked me how I wanted to repay and things like that which I don't remember doing last year when I applied.  It then told me it will let me in within 1 hour which i did not remmeber getting last year as well.

Has anyone been denied still after getting this far?  Or am I approved and its just getting a final rate?  Because when I requested to increase my navcheck last month it did the 1 hour review thing too before I was approved via text message.

I'm holding my breath until it texts me because I been hoping so hard that I can get a bigger car for me and my daughter Smiley Sad  I applied for $30K

Same thing happened to me. I applied got the under review statement and by the end of the day I was approved for 30k at 2.09 percent.

Nice!

Now, what are you going to buy?

What were the other aspects of the approval? Term, amount, new/used ect?

Re: NFCU declined or approved?

60 months, new car, 30K.  I asked what if I end up wanting a late model she said to just call the number she gave me and tell them before I Do so and that it SHOULDN'T change the apr but I read in the paperwork she gave me that it could change =\

Right now I'm in a 2001 Passat that has a missing glove box 0_0 and the trunk space is annoying with my baby's stroller and putting her in the car is a pain because it's low so I was looking at either the Acura RDX or VW Tiguan.  Money wise I was considering the new Acura ILX because their cheaper but its size is a bit bigger than the space in the passat.

I have 60 days to use the check they gave me so I really want to take my time this time.

Re: NFCU declined or approved?

What about a 2014 Forester 2.0XT Touring, Nissan Juke SL, or Subaru XV limited?

These are all affordably priced and get good fuel mileage.

Re: NFCU declined or approved?

I really am not a fan of the juke's style.  I had considered the touring before but tiguan was ranked higher and then I eventually developed an interest in the RDX but I struggle with the price.  I went to Acura yesterday to finally get more in depth rather just looking online all the time and researching.  I went inside a Tiguan about a month ago and liked the sunroof and the space.  It wasn't too big at all for me.  When I went inside the RDX and test drove it just on the lot I already was nervous because I just didn't like how much bigger it felt.  My loan is for brand new and the RDX's are out of my range and I don't know if its worth changing my APR just to get a late model

I looked at the ILX and the size was just about perfect almost.  It's always just me and my baby mainly unless my b/f takes her to daycare every once in awhile and the seats in the backseat dip a little lower than my passat so her carseat wouldn't take up so much space.  I loved everything else about the ilx.  I'm glad I went because I thought there was a big difference between the tech vs premium package and the biggest difference is just navi and a harddrive basically and a bigger screen.  It has the SIRI button on the wheel so I can use my maps on my iphone through the car and I fell in love with it.  ANd it's way cheaper, it also has all the new 2013 tech and perks that acura has for some of its cars.  He said some of their cars still had the technology from 2009 to 2011.  The trunk is also bigger than my passat that I struggle with my daughter's stroller.

With my trade in they estimated around 2500 (he tried to give me $3500 for my passat and no money down if I was to finance through them caues they were giving a 750 military appreciation credit) but my APR would be 5%)  and I wanted to come in with about $2k to put down also later this month it would bring down the one with the premium package to about $27 to $28k.

I dislike the juke as well. I think I could tolerate the 2.0 subaru, but fuel mileage would be bad. Just want to make sure you are test driving lots of cars before you mkae your choice.

Guess I am just not a fan of SUV's, as a sedan can work for me 99.9% of the time. Maybe some day when I need an SUV I will understand.

Good luck on your car hunt. See if you can find some info on resale value. If a vehicle costs more to start with, but has a much higher resale it may still be a viable option.
