Current car loan is $508/mo. New car would hopefully be around the same. Will be trading car in.
I am about to start looking into ordering a new car. The current car I am looking at is a 2019 Mustang GT. I am going to have to place an order to get the car that I want. That said time frame for it to come in will be about 2 months. So if I order sometime in september it should show up November/December. But here is my dilemma. I have pretty much all of the pricing figured out.
After trade in and down payment and all that jazz I'd be financing about $30,854 with an LTV of about 80% how would I go about trying to secure financing before I actually put my order in. I don't want to go through the hassle of putting the order in and having the deal fall apart in the F&I room.
I am a member of 2 local credit unions as well as PenFed. PenFed turned me down for a credit card a few months back so I'm iffy about putting in an application with them. DCU for whatever reason will not let me open an account unless I provide either a telephone bill or a utility bill(apparently a signed copy of the lease won't work as proof of address) so I feel like they are out of the picture. I could possibly go see them in person since there is a DCU branch close to my job.
I have been working diligently to pay off every collection I had(all collections are gone from report now and are paid in full) I still have a bunch of charge offs from 2012-2013. As well as a Verizon account that showed it's ugly head back in April that I paid but still remains on Experian and Trans Union, it shows as derogatory on Experian bringing the score down in comparison to the others.
Sorry for the long winded post, but I have been trying to get a Mustang for years now and I am finally nearing the finish line. Depending on whatever the rate is the monthly payment would be less or the same as what I am paying now and I'll be making more money come October so DTI should still be in line. Are there any places that use FICO8 Classic? CapitalOne Auto Navigator usually has be at around 6.0-11% depending on deal terms.
