Is there any where we can get a car loan for my DH with bad credit? We went and spoke with a lender about getting approved for a mortgage last night and due to Dh's bad credit we can only use my credit and income. The only way we are going to get approved for the amount we need is if I can get rid of my car payment. Our lender suggested trying to get it put in DH's name. His scores were in the mid 500s. I bought my car 2 years ago and owe $12,000. According to KBB it is only worth $9,000 now.
Should we try and hope to get a loan at all and deal with the high interest rates until I can refinance it back into my name?
Should we try and trade it in the hopes a dealer can get DH a loan?
Should I shop online for a car loan, or only at the bank?
We are currently renting a 2 bedroom apartment. In August we got custody of DH's two young sons and we have a baby on the way. We really need to get into a house. This car problem is all that is in our way. I have credit scores in the mid 700s.
