Re: Nissan

Congrats on the new car, i was just approved with them (nmac) as well, i got a 2010 Nissan Altima with a 1.9 apr (tier 2, i believe)

I rolled around 2500 negative but i was fine because my old apr from the previous lender was toooo high!! 21% to be exact!

Payments are going to be around $369

Re: Nissan

I had our local Nissan dealer call me out the blue today (we had casually looked a few months ago at some Nissans as we need to replace our truck with an SUV), stating that they are giving top dollar for trades this weekend.  I'm wondering if our weird weather this week has anything to do with it?  Anyway, the two issues we have are negative equity in our trade in (about $4,000), and our credit scores.

We're going through credit repair and in the middle of January our scores were 568 TU for me, and 588 TU for my wife.  We had a short sale on our house that was closed successfully in Sept 2010.  The only auto baddie I have is a cosigned loan that I did for a family member (never again) who unfortunately didn't make on time payments and eventually the car was totalled (not her fault) which was successfully paid off in March 2010.  My wife and my car loans other than that are perfect on time every month.

Has anyone had Nissan successfully grant the good rate with our scores like they are?  They may be a little higher right now as we're working to get some baddies taken off of both of our reports.

Re: Nissan

I highly doubt you will be getting tier one credit.

Sorry

Re: Nissan

Well that was a waste of time.  Not only did they lowball the heck out of my trade ($3k below average trade in value for KBB).  The new car/finance manager tried telling me that Nissan requires a 700 for a lease, then corrected himself when I told him that everyone here has been saying it's 620, and even Nissan's own website says 620.  He tried telling me my TU was a 590.  I knew it was auto enhanced and that's when we got in the discussion of what I pulled and he said that the scores here aren't true FICO.    I told him surely he could at least try for a recon with the score being so close, and that my current two auto trade lines are perfect.  One being over 3 years and the other being 1.5 years in age.  He said he would call Nissan on Monday to try to get a recon.   He did say he could probably give me $2k more for my trade.  I told him make it $3k and I'll reconsider.

I also had him good when I told him I can go to a local leasing company and get approved with a 600 as that's what they told me they require, and he told me 3rd party lease companies aren't a good idea.   LOL.

Anyone else had any luck with a recon with Nissan?

Re: Nissan

Anyone have pretty good credit with no previous auto loans and get the promo rates with Nissan? My credit score showed 720 with them(much higher than I've seen on here, and I was pleasanatly surprised) and they said I was Beacon 1 BUT they said it was probably going to hurt me that I'd never had an auto loan. Still waiting on approval through Nissan. They submitted my stuff somewhere else and I was approved for 8%, but if that's the best I can get, I'm probably going to wait it out, honestly.

Any experience with a first time buyer? Credit length just over 7 years, make about $52K a year.

Re: Nissan

sorry if I skimmed over this part, but when you do the online application for nissan, do you get the rate and approval right there, or do you have to go to the dealer to get the actual rate?

Lease VERY different from financing... Most everyone requires much better credit to lease vs buy which doesn't make since to me because lease payments are usually less.  When I bought my Infiniti QX56 the lease special was $599 and I didn't qualify for it but they tier 1 me for 4.9% finance at 72 months = $972 Car payment!
