Bevy, can u please update your case?? im kinda in the same boat here. im confuse whether i should join CU or not. and BTW, u have to open an acct with the CU 1st in order to apply for the loan right??

I financed a car through Capital One last year @ 17% interest. It is high, but lower than the 22% or so from my last car that is paid off. I am in the process of trying to get to a 620 score so that I can refinance myself or allow my boyfriend to put the car in his name with a new loan. We are attemping to buy a house and I need less debt and my rate is too high.
FYI my friend financed a car through the Philadelphia Federal Credit Union and her score was about a 615-620 and her rate is approximately 7%. I am not sure why Cap One would want to give you such a high rate.
