Obtaining financing?

Hi,

I would like to do the following, and wonder which banks I should contact.

I have a vehicle worth about $18,000 for trade in, and I figure worst case scenario $15,000. I owe just about $15,000 on this vehicle.

I have $15,000 cash to use as a down payment.

I want to finance a vehicle that costs $29,000.

So basically I am putting $15,000 down on a $29,000 vehicle.

My FICO credit scores that I receieved here are Transunion 598, and Equifax 574. There are two items on my reports that I have letters from the creditors/collection agencies stating one was placed on my report in error, and the other was paid in full. Two seperate items for $200ish amounts. I have no outstanding balances, everything is either settled, or paid in full. I have 6 derogatory items, and 2 are the ones just noted, another is a bank account someone opened using my identity but I have been unable to remove despite going through the it's fraud process over several years. My current autoloan that I have paid early/on-time with no issues since November 2010.

Anyone idea if I could get financing, with whom, and at what rate?

Thanks for reading guys, Smiley Wink

Re: Obtaining financing?

What lender currently finances your car?

what kind of car are you looking to buy?

if you have letters for 2 baddies on your report why don't you submit them to get them deleted or updated properly on your report before buying car?

I would try something like lending tree, they can bounce you through several banks, you are not going to like the interest rate though most likely and other problem is Im not sure on application with lending tree you can say im buying 30k car but putting 15k down, so if you apply for 15 with them I think they are going to think you are buying 15k car and you might have problems getting that financing... but if they can see you will have 50% equity I think your chances with go way up.

Re: Obtaining financing?

Santander - subprime high teens interest rate. I figured it would help build my credit, but it really hasn't done very much, and I don't understand why.

Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4x4, used, maybe new. Preferably used for the bigger bang for the buck.

I will try Lending Tree here in the next week after I find out more about having this stuff removed.
