I think I saw this same issue mentioned somewhere on the forums but could not find it.
Yesterday I applied for Penfed membership and a used car loan on the phone in the same phone call. All went just fine. I was approved for membership on the phone and the loan was sent to a loan officer for review. I was approved for the car loan later that day. I have not applied for any other products.
Today I get two myfico alerts and see these TWO inquiries on EQ:

I was really hoping to benefit from the 90-day "reuse" of a single puil.
Just writing to confirm that I also had a HP when I applied and was approved for membership through PENFED.
I'm thinking that when I am all done with the used car loan paperwork/check stuff with PenFed then I will give them a call and politely inquire if they can remove one of the hard pulls. Not sure that is even a possibility but no harm in asking. All of my searching online turned up that you can "dispute" a bogus inquiry and get it removed - that makes sense. I am not exactly disputing the "duplicate" inquiry. This is more of a GW kind of thing. All of my calls to PenFed so far have been wonderful!

same thing just happened to me. I applied for a share savings membership and was approved and noticed a hard pull. figured what the heck and apped for promise since one pull for 90 days of products. I was approved for promise $2500 line. No new hard pulls so I apped to refi auto loan was approved. I am saving 6 months time and $6000 with new loan. However I just noticed another hard pull.


This is normal with PenFed and they won't remove one.
